Where Do I File for Divorce?

After a lot of searching, you're ready to file for divorce, but you don’t know where to start.

Requirements

Divorce laws vary from country to country, so it’s important to understand the rules where you will fill the divorce application and how they will affect your case.   You may think to file for a divorce without a local attorney, but it's probably best to at least consult with an Armenian lawyer before filing. An attorney can help you figure out where to file, how to fill out the appropriate paperwork, and explain how the process of filing for divorce works in Armenia. In Armenia there are 2 general options to get divorced. 1-st option assumes that both spouses are agreeing to fill a joint application for a divorce. In the course of this option you won’t need to go to a court and the time frames to complete the procedure are quite comprehensive.
Where there is no consent from your spouse for a joint divorce application, or the latest refuses to answer your requests, you will need to proceed with a court application to a General Jurisdiction Court located in Armenia. In this scenario we will provide an experienced divorce lawyer from our law firm to present your best interests before the Armenian court.
