The Law "On Trade and Services" (No. HO-134-N, November 24, 2004) defines energy drinks as follows:
Energy drinks: Alcoholic or non-alcoholic tonic beverages containing a total caffeine content exceeding 150 mg/L and including one or more of the following: tonic substances, minerals, easily digestible carbohydrates, vitamins, vitamin-like substances, energy metabolism stimulants, or plant-derived ingredients (excluding tea and coffee).
Regulations
Prohibition of Sales to Minors: The sale or any form of distribution of alcoholic beverages and energy drinks to individuals under 18 years of age is strictly prohibited.
Prohibition of Automated Sales: The sale of alcoholic beverages and energy drinks through vending machines, self-service devices, or other automated technical means is prohibited.
Display Requirements: Energy drinks offered for sale must be placed on a dedicated consumer shelf or section clearly labeled "Energy Drink." The shelf or section must feature a legible and visible warning stating:
"Not recommended for children under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or individuals with heightened nervous excitability, insomnia, or high blood pressure."
Effective Date
This law takes effect on August 14, 2025.
